# How many credits are deducted when using the Prospector tool?

Generating a lead list with the FindThatLead Prospector is free initially.
  
But as you start building your email list, we deduct 1 credit per successful email.
  
To find an email, we apply more than 14 verification processes before delivering any results. This means there is a lot of work we do on the backend before we even suggest you contact that email address.
  
Most of our competitors simply give you a random permutation of email without any verification. This hinders the effectiveness of your email performance.
